Mayor Cathy Murillo Honors Exceptional Employees and Businesses

Committed to Employing People with Disabilities at 15th Annual Mayor’s Awards

Santa Barbara Mayor Cathy Murillo and service organizations will honor four local organizations for their commitment to employing and supporting people with disabilities:Independent Living Resource Center, Chevron Stations Inc., FluidStance, and the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County. They will be recognized at the 15th Annual Mayor’s Awards ceremony, held virtually this year, on Thursday, October 29th at noon. The keynote speaker at this year’s event will be Grace Fisher, disability advocate and founder of the Grace Fisher Foundation. She will speak onIncreasing Access and Opportunity.” The 2020 awards hold a particular significance, marking the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the 75th year of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and against the backdrop of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
