Second Fridays Art is pleased to announce the Aquatic 2023 annual jury competition. This highly anticipated event invites artists from all backgrounds and mediums to submit their creative works inspired by the theme of aquatic life. The competition encourages artists to explore a diverse range of aquatic interpretations, from marine environments and water sports to backyard pools, fish, and birds. The theme also invites artists to explore environmental issues that affect our oceans and waterways.
JUROR OF AWARDS:
SUSAN D. SAVAGE
Professor of Art Emerita, Westmont College
Susan Savage received her BA in Art and MFA in Painting from the University of California Santa Barbara. She has had a long and rich career in secondary and higher education teaching Art in the Santa Barbara community. She taught for 23 years at Westmont College, and served as chair of the art department for ten of those years. Retiring in 2014 she now dedicates her time to her painting.
