Paintings featuring Water Gardens, Exotic Plants and Koi Ponds found in the enchanting estate gardens of Montecito and Santa Barbara
Elliott Ciampi has been showing his wonderful paintings at the Corridan Gallery for over 20 years. This collection of his work called "Summer in the Garden", is his third one-man show in the Gallery.
Elliott loves gardens. He loves to be in them, loves to tend them and he loves to paint them. He paints the Water Gardens, Exotic Plants and Koi Ponds that are found in the enchanting estate gardens of Montecito and Santa Barbara.
Working for decades as a professional gardener, he has had permission to do Plain Air paintings in magnificent grounds not usually available to the public. Most of the paintings in this exhibit are larger studio work based on the sketches and studies he did on site. Some take inspiration from his own garden at his home in Santa Barbara.
Mr. Ciampi’s paintings have developed from a lifetime of contemplative observation and love of nature. He studied Fine Art and Art history at Cal Poly and UCSB with emphasis in Theory of Design and Color. This has combined with his knowledgeable perception of the life and energy in the gardens to make his paintings become more powerful and more vibrant. They fully capture the drama and peacefulness of nature.
