Art From Scrap Gallery

Art Exhibition "The Sky Hasn’t Fallen Yet"

Stop by the Art From Scrap Gallery for The Sky Hasn’t Fallen Yet, our first exhibition of 2022!

Sabaitide is an emerging Asian American artist and writer from Ventura Avenue whose work will show in the Art From Scrap Gallery from Wednesday, January 19th through Saturday, March 19th, 2022.

In her Artist’s Statement, Sabaitide says, “Growing up, art and fashion seemed so glamorous while I had to shop at thrift shops and up-cycle materials—and so naturally the need to be resourceful attributed to how I developed my creativity. When I found Art From Scrap, it seemed like a perfect place to share my art because it brings together art and the environment. I am curious to explore the duality of oil and water because of the environment I’m from. I am so grateful for the opportunity to share a glimpse of my artistic vision. I first captured my wonder in waves and clouds to illustrate my emotions and thoughts. Then, it’s like the clouds around my head parted ways and a waterfall from the sky graciously appeared to encourage me to think above and beyond the boundaries of my reality."
The Sky Hasn’t Fallen Yet will have a soft opening due to COVID. You can view the show during the AFS Gallery open hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please wear a mask in the Gallery.
