RECORDER PLAYERS - The Central Coast Recorder Society (CCRS) invites you to join us on Saturday, September 7th from 1-4 pm as we kick off our 2024-2025 year with an afternoon of music!
All are welcome – members and non-members alike.
NEW THIS SEASON – FREE COACHING SESSION! This year we are adding a free coaching session beginning at 12:00 noon before our regular monthly meetings. Bring your own recorder and music stand. Music will be provided to you by email prior to the coaching session.
This is your chance to go over the music, ask questions, and get comfortable playing with the larger group.
The sessions will be led by Chet Stussy, a Ph.D. candidate in musicology at UC Santa Barbara, where he also teaches undergraduate music history courses. Chet conducted the Santa Barbara City College Trombone Choir from 2018 to 2022, and has worked as a Teaching Artist for the Santa Barbara Symphony’s education department.
All coaching session attendees are invited to attend our regular monthly afternoon meetings. Non-members may attend one afternoon monthly meeting free of charge. Please see ‘Fees’ information below for more information.
Lunch is not included with the coaching session but our regular meetings include a break with snacks.

2024 – 2025 Meeting Schedule:
CCRS monthly meetings are held from September through June where we play together and learn from professional conductors as well as talented members of our community. Meetings are typically scheduled for the first Saturday of each month.
Each season, CCRS sponsors a spring recorder workshop. Mark your calendars and save the date to join us on March 8th for this special event. Workshop details are available at centralcoastrecorders.org/workshop .
Our upcoming 2024 meetings include conductors Stephan Haas (9/7), Katie Saxon (10/5), Inga Funck (11/9) and a special holiday celebration on December 7th. We will kick-off 2025 with guest conductor Ricardo Beron.

Fees:
First time visitors may attend one meeting free of charge.
Yearly membership: $60
