Dust off your old prom dress and tux (or your parents’!) because September 30th will be a real blast from the past with an 80's prom theme party at Backstage.
What to expect:
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Limo Service - Champagne to start the night
6:30 pm: Doors open, check-in on the red carpet with a professional photographer. Check out the photo booth to capture all the retro fashion and antics
10:00 pm: Best 80's outfit/costume contest
Costume: So many options
Gentleman go as early hip-hop, goth, hair metal, or preppy! Wear a leather jacket, a polo shirt and pegged jeans, a mullet, or get inspiration from Michael Jackson or “Flashdance.”
Ladies can get inspiration from early Madonna, “Flashdance”, Dynasty, or Robert Palmer girls. Just hit up a thrift shop and look for shoulder pads, sequin dresses, fingerless gloves, ankle socks, cropped denim jackets, white denim, stirrup pants, off-the-shoulder tops, and anything leather with fringe. For a DIY option, shred a t-shirt and put beads on the shreds!
Accessorize with wigs, fake earrings for men, dyeable shoes, pastel colors, or high-top sneakers with two different color socks on each foot. I went with lee-press on nails, ankle socks, a banana clip, fingerless lace gloves, shiny plastic-feather earrings, and lots and lots of hairspray and blue eyeshadow.
