Santa Barbara Maritime Museum (SBMM) is excited to announce the return of its Girls in Ocean Science Conference (GiOS) this September, an empowering educational event designed to connect middle and high school girls with leading female scientists and ocean advocates. The two-day conference will take place at SBMM on:
- Saturday, September 27, 2025 – Middle School
- Sunday, September 28, 2025 – High School
Through hands-on lab activities, real-world field research aboard a local vessel, and face-to-face mentorship with experts in marine biology, oceanography, shark ecology, and environmental science, students will explore career paths in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and develop a deeper understanding of their coastal environment.
