Hey ladies! Ever wanted to learn an instrument and play music with other people? Or perhaps you already know how to play, but haven't had the opportunity to play with others yet. Well, now is your chance – join us.
Ladies’ Strumming Social Club: held at JAMS nearly every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 5.30 to 7 pm. Our first session is on Monday, Jan. 31st.
In this ongoing workshop, women will learn the fundamentals of guitar, bass, ukulele, and even autoharp (each participant can select one of these instruments to play).
- - learn how to play and sing popular songs together
- - the common structures and progressions of popular songs
- - how to transpose songs into different keys to accommodate their own vocal ranges
- - how to improvise and play simple solos
- - how to begin to play by ear
- - how to play music with others
- - and more…
Participants will have the opportunity to meet other local musically inclined women and connect socially as well as musically.
