MORE Theater/SB site-specific production of CHINWAG by David Starkey staged at the TV Santa Barbara (TVSB) studios.
Directed by Meg Kruszewska, a new play in collaboration with local writer, David Starkey, with Meredith McMinn, Matthew Tavianini, Alaina Dean, and Heather Grosch.
It’s 1976 at the local public access TV station. Second-wave feminism arrives when Dorothy, the smartest woman in town, takes over Chinwag, a live talk show hosted by the famously mustached, Russ O’Sullivan, who is left wondering why he is dancing to disco and What’s Going On? The women have something to share in this dark comedy as the revolution becomes televised, affecting the next 50 years of small-town history in Santa Teresa!
