Exchange unwanted guns for $100 and $200 Smart & Final gift cards at Earl Warren Showgrounds on Saturday, Aug. 21 from 8 a.m. until noon.
Attendees arrive with unloaded guns in the trunk of their vehicles , and Santa Barbara police officers will remove the guns and provide a receipt to be exchanged for gift cards.
Rifles and handguns qualify for $100 each, and assault weapons are $200 each.
All transactions are completely anonymous, and SB police will process and destroy the weapons.
The event is organized by the Coalition Against Gun Violence in partnership with the City of Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara Police Department.
