Santa Barbara Japanese Obon Festival

You are invited to the Annual Japanese Obon Festival.

Activities for the day include Japanese folk dancing, Taiko drumming, hula dance performance, karate demonstration, sanshin (Japanese string instrument) performance, miniature bonsai tree exhibit, Japanese craft sale, games, face painting, origami (Japanese paper folding) activity, and Japanese flower arrangement demonstration.

All are invited to dance practices. We meet every Sunday leading up to the Festival from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm (with the exception of Father's Day June 16) The dances are simple and no dance partner is necessary.

July 20 from 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Admission to this event is free and we are located the Buddhist Church of Santa Barbara, 1015 E. Montecito Street (1 block up from Trader Joe's on Milpas St.).
