The Santa Barbara Symphony and State Street Ballet join forces once more to bring you an exciting triple bill! The Symphony begins onstage in Brahms Symphony No. 3, then a world-premiere dance by Nilas Martins and Megan Philipp is set to Samuel Barber’s String Quartet No. 1 in B Minor. And for the finale: a bold theatrical ballet of rivalry and desire, when The Symphony moves into the pit for Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, choreographed by George Balanchine and set to Richard Rodgers’ wonderful jazzy score.
