Veronica is serving her third term as an elected member of the Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees for Area 3, and served as Board President in 2018.
Veronica has worked in public education for over 15 years as a former Elementary School Principal of two schools, kindergarten and first grade teacher. A California credentialed Reading Specialist, bilingual in Spanish, Veronica started her own business, Reading Literacy Specialists and provides professional learning for teachers in the areas of reading, literacy, and science.
She earned a B.A. in English Literature from UCSB, a M.S. in Literacy and Reading from Cal State Fullerton, a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown as well as California credentials including multiple subjects, reading specialist, and administrative.
