In its 71st year, Breakfast with the Authors is an exciting opportunity to interact with local authors, poets, and illustrators, while enjoying a delicious breakfast.
The Santa Barbara County Education Office is hosting the Breakfast with the Authors event on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm in the SBCEO auditorium, located at 4400 Cathedral Oaks Road, Santa Barbara. Students (grades 4-12), parents, teachers, coordinators, and librarians, and community members are invited to attend.
This year's featured writers include: - Nikki Barthelmess, young adult book author - Joshua Hauke, comic book author and illustrator - Melinda Palacio, Santa Barbara’s 10th Poet Laureate - Sylvia Rodriguez Vega, UCSB Assistant Professor in the Department of Chicana/o Studies and community engaged artist - Sherry Shahan, children’s book author with a focus on adventure - Erik Talkin, CEO of the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County, anti-hunger and nutrition activist and children’s book author - Mark London Williams, LA Time Bestselling young adult author Register to attend by Monday, October 16, 2023 at: www.sbceo.org/breakfast . Space is limited to allow for personal interaction with the authors and illustrators, so register early. Tickets are $16 for students (grades 4-12) and $20 for the general public. The price includes breakfast.
