The Santa Barbara Jazz Society welcomes guitarist, Tony Ybarra’s “Elementos Project” on Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 4pm at SOhO. The band is a Santa Barbara musical group that reimagines iconic songs by the greatest songwriters of the past 75 years from the Great American Songbook to contemporary music from around the world.
Although Tony is one of the most sought after Spanish/Latin guitarists on the west coast, he promises that the band will focus on straight ahead jazz for this concert. An active composer with his music featured in movies and TV shows, Tony has also appeared with Grammy winners, Josh Groban, Kenny Loggins, Micheal McDonald and jazz composer, Maria Schneider. Backing up Tony for the Jazz Society event are bassist, Santino Tafarella and drummer, Ed “Lalo” Smith and features the vocal stylings of Marisa Pasquini. Please join us!
