Hillside House Hosts Shoe Drive

Support center for developmentally disabled by donating gently worn or new footwear.

Hillside House, the non-profit residential facility for people with developmental disabilities, is currently having a shoe drive until October 31. Hillside House will earn money based on the quantity of pairs collected, which will be used to fund the daily operations of the facility.

Hillside House is “seeking boots, wing tips, running shoes, sandals, and even high heels,” according to a press release. The shoes can be gently worn, used, or new.

“We are excited about our shoe drive,” said Nicole Ramirez, the center’s director of development. “Most people have extra shoes in their closets, so we’re asking them to take a look, tell their friends and family to do the same, and donate those spares to us. It will help those in need to become self-sufficient, both here at Hillside House and abroad. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
