Low-Flow Shower Heads Soon Available

Residents can exchange their old models with their water agencies.

Starting June 1, Santa Barbara County residents will be able to exchange their shower heads for low-flow models, which release 1.5 gallons of water per minute, compared to the standard 2 or 2.5 gallons per minute; 6,000 of the low-flow models are available.

Ten water agencies in the county are participating in the exchange program: the cities of Buellton, Solvang, Santa Maria, Santa Barbara, and Lompoc; the Carpinteria Water District; the Goleta Water District; La Cumbre Mutual Water Company; Los Alamos Community Services District; and the Mission Hills Community Services District.

People can make the exchange at their local water agency, or with the county if they are on a private water system.
