Unsympathetic

If my father were alive today he might say, "If you get caught, don't waste your breath telling folks your psychological problems made you do it."

The story about parking ticket embezzler Karen Flores reminded me of some important advice my father gave me: "Never steal unless it's more than a million" (three million with inflation now). If he were alive today he might add: "And don't embezzle from the Police Department" and also "If you get caught, don't waste your breath telling folks your psychological problems made you do it."

We don't care — not the ones who've gotten tickets — certainly not the ones who may have lost jobs because the lack of funds.

If she had been a member of my family, she would have known better than to only steal $250,000-$700,000. The two years would have been worth it.
