Sable Offshore has done a genuinely remarkable job threading the needle when it has come to the many regulatory agencies with something to say about the company’s plan to restart Exxon’s old oil operation up the coast, shut down now the past 10 years. But this week, a couple of class action lawsuits were launched, accusing the oil company of playing bait-and-switch and hide-the-salami with its investors when it comes to the real facts of the matter. Certainly, the oil company did itself no favors by pissing off California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, now wielding what thus far is the smoking gun of the case. | Credit: Nick Welsh
SAGAS OF SABLE: Trust me, I know from stupid. Everything dumb, I’ve already done. Hell, I even bit when some two-bit hustler accosted me on the streets of New Orleans with, “Hey, I bet I know where you got your shoes.”
